A Brief History

MidwestAssociated Collectors, Inc. (ACI) began serving businesses throughout the Midwest in 1955. In 1961, W.O. (Bill) Eklund joined ACI. He completed the purchase of the business four years later. In 1982, Bill’s son, Art, joined ACI and today oversees the day-to-day direction and mission of the company.

In 1991, ACI purchased Ontario Systems’ FACS® computerized collection system. Since purchasing FACS® and its subsequent upgrades, we comfortably handle significant yearly growth in our business.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the primary federal law regulating third-party collection agencies, was enacted in 1977 with the support of ACA to protect consumers from unfair and abusive collection practices.
